Relationships In Hamlet In William Shakespeare's Hamlet, the character of Hamlet has many relationships with all characters. The theme of relationships is very strong in this play. A relationship is an association between two or more people. Hamlet has many of these associations with , Claudius, Ophelia, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Many of his relationships are just and unjust according to the character's feelings. The relationship between Claudius and Hamlet had many hidden meanings. The first time that Hamlet insults Claudius when someone else is around is when Claudius was supposed to help Hamlet cheer up. Claudius, who was watching this play, felt guilt for killing his brother, King Hamlet, and had to leave. Claudius was praying and so Hamlet felt that he could not have revenge for his father because of the act he was doing. Hamlet also needed to be on his own deathbed in order to finally get angry enough to kill Claudius. Philosophy Statement :: Education Teaching Teachers Essays

Philosophy Statement Teaching is a job that will always be in high demand. I feel teaching is very important because the future depends on it. In this paper, I plan to tell my personal reasons for becoming a teacher, future goals, and my philosophical views on education. My main reasons for wanting to become a teacher are time with family and vacation time, working with students, teaching kids the importance of exercise, and intellectual matters. As a teacher, I will have a lot of time to spend with my family. Teachers have summers off, spring break, Christmas break, and some holidays. This will give me plenty of time to spend with my family. I would also have time to take long vacations and visit different regions of the United States. I will get to see my kids grow up into adults. Many people do not get this opportunity because they have to work year round. Having an opportunity to be with my family was an important decision in my wanting to become a teacher. Another reason for my wanting to become a teacher is working with students. As a teacher, I would like to have a positive influence and effect on the students I teach. For example, a good teacher may influence a student to go to college after high school. A teacher could also serve as a reference or help a student get a scholarship. As a teacher, I would be willing to do what it takes to help a student succeed. I feel I could develop moral character in the students I work with. I would also like to become a teacher in order to teach students the importance of exercise. I plan to major in physical education and minor in health, and I will gain certification in grades K-12. Many students do not realize the positive effects of exercise. As a teacher, I feel I could motivate students to exercise daily. It would feel great to know that students started an exercise program because of my teaching.

Anne Hutchinson a Woman with a Voice Essay --

In the book â€Å"Anne Hutchinson Puritan Prophet† Timothy D. Hall not only writes a biography of Anne but the whole state of Christianity in the late 16th and early 17th century. The story is about woman who was not afraid to speak out and voice her views. The author gives an in-depth story of all the events that were happening and how they influenced Anne to become such an important figure in history of protestant Christianity. Anne Hutchinson was influenced by a number of people in her life. The first influence must have been her father. Her father Rev. Marbury spoke out against many ministers in the Church of England because of their lack of qualification or corruption. He was sentenced for a year in prison. Anne read many of her father’s books which shaped her into a woman that wasn’t afraid to speak out. Anne was born July 17th 1591 in Alford England. She married William Hutchinson and they had 15 children. In 1634 she and her family moved to Boston. One of the driving factors of her move to Boston was the fact that her most admired preacher John Cotton had moved to Boston. She felt it was God’s will to move to Boston as well. Upon arrival to Boston she worked as a midwife and healer. She was a member of the church where John Cotton preached. She started her own bible study group with women, which later becomes one of the reasons she would be tried in court for. Anne then gets accused of heresies in the Puritan church. She is accused Antinomianism and Familism. She then is found guilty and gets banished from Massachusetts Bay Colony. In the short seven chapters, the author paints a picture of a major dilemma that was between different religious individuals. Within the dilemma the story unfolds the influence of Anne in the... ... the Puritans and their development as a denomination. I would say that this book is written for specific audience. This book would suite someone who is interested in studying early 17th century Christian history. This book would also suite someone who wants to know the in-depth version of the biography of Anne Hutchinson. I think those specific audience would enjoy this book and could probably use it as a great resource. For someone who just wants an overall biography of Anne Hutchinson, this book would be overwhelming do to the level of detail that is involved. This biography not only tells Anne’s story, but really goes into the where she got her ideas and why she became who she was. The author explains the Puritan beliefs and the 17th century church in Boston well and puts it in understanding terms. This makes it a well-written book that you can enjoy reading.

Kirszner & Mandell, The Brief Wadsworth Handbook, 7th ed.Tensen, Research Strategies for a Digital Age, 4th ed. Course Description: This is a course in the process of expository writing. Students will read essays and compose papers that are unified, organized, logically developed and supported, clearly stated, and well- focused. Research techniques are introduced and incorporated into at least one composition. This course partially satisfies the writing requirement—6,000 words (S. B. E. 6A-10. 30). Students must pass the core assignments with a ‘C' or better. Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to †¢ demonstrate competence in written standard English usage, punctuation, sentence structure, paragraphing, and other fundamentals of writing †¢ develop effective essays determined by purpose and audience †¢ demonstrate awareness of writing as a dynamic process ith rough drafts, substantive revisions, proofreading, and editing †¢ recognize, incorporate, and combine patterns of exposition/rhetorical modes †¢ use critical and original thinking in course assignments †¢ employ field and library research in the creation of at least one essay, and document using parenthetic MLA format †¢ employ the use of computers for word processing and/or researching all essays Core Assignments: In order to pass ENC1101, students must pass all core assignments with a grade equivalent to a ‘C' or better. Two in-class timed writings patterned after the CLAST essay †¢ An expository essay. †¢ An argumentative essay. †¢ A library research project on a subject assigned by the instructor (minimum 5 pages) that demonstrates: researching, note-taking & drafting; producing a works cited page (5-entry minimum); documenting research using MLA style; formatting using MLA style; editing and proofreading ENC1101 Documentation Exam – score is not included in final grade.Students are required to pass the ENC 1101 Documentation Exam with a score of 70% or higher, or they will be required to retake the exam in the Make-Up Testing Center before receiving a final grade for the course. College Plagiarism Statement: As a member of the Seminole State College community, a student is expected to be honest in all of his or her academic coursework and activities. Academic dishonesty such as cheating of any kind on examinations, course assignments, or projects; plagiarism, representation; and the unauthorized possession of examinations or other course-relat ed materials is prohibited.Plagiarism is unacceptable to the College community. Academic work submitted by students is assumed to be the result of their own thought, research, or self-expression. When students borrow ides, wording, or organization from another source, they are expected to acknowledge that fact in an appropriate manner. Plagiarism is the deliberate use and appropriation of another's work without identifying the source and trying to pass off such work as the student's own. Any student who fails to give full credit for ideas or materials taken from another has plagiarized.Any student who shares his or her work for the purpose of cheating on class assignments or tests or who helps another to cheat or plagiarize is subject to the same penalties as the student who commits the act. When cheating or plagiarism has occurred, the instructor may take academic actions ranging from denial of credit for or assigning a grade of ‘F' for the course. To summarize: any student who misses more than 10% of the classes can be withdrawn from the course without notice. Requests for an excused absence made after the fact must document an emergency that the student could not anticipate or prevent. Late arrivals (more than 5 minutes) are recorded as an absence and will not be overlooked, since they disrupt the learning process of the other students. Students who leave before the end of the class will be marked absent for that class.A student who has to be absent because of jury duty or court-mandated appearance needs to contact the instructor in advance of the absence in order that a plan for making up work missed can be made. When observance of religious holidays of students' religious faith interferes with attendance in class, students are required to notify the instructor in advance of such abse nces. Students are held responsible for material covered during their absences, with reasonable time provided to complete make-up assignments. Seminole State College believes that regular attendance in the classroom is necessary for student success in college.Throughout the semester, quizzes are given to evaluate the student's understanding of class material and enhance the student's grade. Because these quizzes are given in an attempt to encourage attendance, no make-up tests are given regardless of the reason for the student's absence.
